I know the episode will only be up on Youtube tomorrow, but since a lot has happened in the last few episodes, I figured people might be interested in discussing things. Spoilery comments expected, of course.

Whew, it's thrilling (and terrifying!) that the Mighty Nein now have the ear of two very powerful nations, and the responsibility of bringing this war to a close. I've seen lots of people point out the Empire must be lying about having only recently recovered this latest beacon, but I don't remember enough of the beacon discussion to know if that has truth to it.

I'm fuzzy on the details also, but both things could be true? If I recall right and we don't know how they came to have this one, it could have been "found" when it was convenient~ for The Empire(TM) to have it.

Hey! Yeah, all I really remember was that The Bright Queen was convinced the empire had stolen two beacons, that the crownsguard had one that that Kryn soldier in Zadash failed to steal and then the Might Nein successfully stole that one. That's the one returned.

I guess that does jibe with the idea the Empire stole both at the same time and that Kryn soldier only managed to grab it, so King Dwendal is lying through his teeth about them just finding the other one.

That tracks, though I was thinking more there may be an extra beacon at play and Dwendal and some degree of company were unaware of one of them until recently.

So the Queen is right, but Dwendal presumes one is the beacon TM9 returned and this current one is recently discovered.

I may be horribly fudging timeline here, but something like --

> Bright Queen: Aware two beacons have been stolen and Rings The Alarm
> TM9: Grabs one, oops
> Meanwhile, The Empire/Dwendal have a man-hunt to find the damn thing, under the impression it was taken back by the Kryn and begins preparing for things to escalate
> Assembly: Has another, unknown beacon and is using it to do things like the shady experimentation
> TM9 returns their acquired beacon to Xhorhas. At this point, they have contextual reason to believe The Bright Queen is right about a second beacon thanks to the experimentation evidence
> The Empire/Dwendal is now even more up in arms because it's confirmed Xhorhas has the beacon back
> Assembly: At some point it becomes more beneficial to reveal this beacon and present it as a new beacon
> TM9 are back in the Empire and King Dwendal both has contextual evidence that a mole in their ranks is not that inconceivable and sees an opportunity. If The Dynasty hasn't murdered TM9 then clearly they're worth something, etc.

Ooh that timeline makes sense, as does the King and the Assembly having different knowledge of the beacon. These peace talks are going to be interesting...
