I loved her and her character SO much. I don't have time at all for another RPG show and yet I'm super tempted to check hers out.

YES! I had no idea who she was coming in and she was amazing and now I'm excited about her show (but also not sure if its Alpha only, so maybe less excited?) That was one of the best guests ever on the show!

I am EMOTIONAL over Fjord and Nott risking their own lives to save Jester, and Caleb abandoning a room full of books to help his friends. They're slowly becoming a family!

I really loved this episode; the happy ball of fun was such a great device, and the fight was really original because of them all arriving separately. And they met their first dragon!

I love Matt's ability to take an encounter that's not particularly difficult for 7 lv7 players (a young blue dragon) and immediately complicate it by ensuring the whole party doesn't arrive at once, adding another teleport to further complicate things, and then managing the fight once the players themselves further complicated it by adding a rogue fire elemental to the mix.

Right?? I was thinking about this, and yeah, he's just SO GOOD at making such interesting and challenging fight scenarios. It's incredible.

I'm in a LMoP DMs group on Facebook, and one of the most common threads there is 'Help! My low-level party of five totally steamrolled Venomfang!' and sure, a young green dragon is slightly less beefy than a young blue dragon, but it really shows how encounter design is SO much bigger than just looking at the CR in the monster manual.

JESTER.

Damn it, Laura Bailey is too good at making me cry.

Oh man what an incredibly dun episode!!!

DAW was breathtaking, and watching her and Matt work together and bounce off each other to introduce Twiggy and the Happy Fun Ball of Tricks was such a delight.

The mechanics and encounters of this whole episode were SO much fun, and the RP and character development on show was fantastic. Laura Bailey broke my heart again, and Caleb's frantic need to get to his friends over all those books was ... so much. And then him just clinging to Nott at the end... I'm so excited to see the emotional fall out of this episode!

Caleb is going to feel *so* guilty. He already feels so much guilt after his and Fjord's shenanigans last episode and her disappointment/disapproval. He's already worried he's ruined one of the only good, pure things he has left, and it wasn't even on purpose this time. On top of his guilty and fear for Nott. He's either going to commit hardcore to protecting them and his attachment to them or (emotionally) run a mile. And its going to be fascinating.

PLUS, someone on Twitter pointed out that given the time fuckery, what was a handful of seconds for Jester and Nott could have been *hours* for those waiting on the other side.

Caleb guilt is my favourite flavour! Even just watching his face hit the table when Sam turned his tablet around to show off his single hit point...

Reasonably Caleb knew Nott could gtfo and there was nothing he could really have done even if he knew Jester was there, but it'll be fun to watch yet another fight between Caleb's calculating pragmatist side and his constant guilt and grudging acceptance that he does actually care about people around him.

(Whoops @ me commenting on the live watch post while watching the Youtube upload before this post went up.)

Yasha not being there when they teleported... Man, that must be fucking rough for her to once again not be there when shit goes down.

Fjord being slender for a half-orc and Travis protesting 'I'm fuckin' fit!' is bringing to mind like. Fjord actually has, like. Dad bod. He looks like a twink next to a full orc, but that's not saying much.

I think this episode might be the most invested I've been since, uh, 28 or so?
