favorite episode!

Lately I’ve been rewatching random episodes while playing Pokémon, but since I’ve watched them all multiple times (don’t give me that look) I can’t really decide what to watch.

So since we have some new faces around here: what’s your favorite Critical Role episode and why?

Bonus if you have one from each campaign, that way I have even more to watch 😉

Dropping mine in the comments in case not everyone’s watched Campaign 1 (I know a lot of people came in on C2): my favorite’s The Kill Box, because it was the first I was completely on the edge of my seat for the entire episode. Later battles were more intense (like idk ep 114??) but the Kevdak fight was the first time it really got to that point for me.

As far as non-battle episodes go I’m extremely fond of The Streets of Ank’Harel, because spice. Man I should rewatch that next.

I don’t actually think I have a favorite C2 episode yet? This last episode was pretty great, it might be that one. I haven’t rewatched C2 yet and probably won’t until it gets further in.

Haven't watch Season 1 yet, but my favorite Season 2 episode is the one where Jester pulls a prank in the Temple of the Platinum Dragon and her and Knott run around trying to escape.

for campaign 1, probably episode 35 for all the compounding "oh shit" moments. not sure i have a favorite for campaign 2 yet.

I’ve just started the Chroma Conclave arc of C1, and the episode where the dragons attacked gave me so many chills (especially Matt’s “I’ve just destroyed something I created” comment at the end), so I think that’s my favorite of campaign one so far.

As for C2 - I really enjoyed the Harvest Close episode. Watching them have fun and play games and arm wrestle (and then go fight a bunch of monsters in an arena) was really enjoyable.

Favorite Episodes (mild spoilers for both campaigns)

My favorite episodes change with my mood. Lately I've rewatched the Feywild episodes and really enjoyed them. They are so strange and funny.

In campaign two I adored Nila, so her two episodes are really high on my list of favorites.

Oh man. I don't really have favorite episodes as much as favorite moments, like from season 1 the end of episode 58 (such a great "oh SHIT" moment) and then the beginning of the next one. And Pike's flash cards xD

I would have had to think hard about this last week, but last Thursday's was probably my favourite of both campaigns! Combat isn't always my cup of tea, but this was one where I loved both the combat and the roleplay just about equally.

My fave from C1 might be the Vecna fight, just for that ninth-level counterspell. ;_____;

Taryon, My Wayward Son remains the best episode of both campaigns. Y'all know exactly why.

Like others have said, my most rewatched from C1 is The Kill Box. I also really like two C1 episodes where Mary and Will guested - the first one is hilarious, and the second is The Sunken Tomb which is so pivotal for the whole campaign and has that great beholder fight.
I've started from the beginning again on the podcast and there are so many good moments I forgot! It's very rewarding to go through it again.

For C2, last week's episode is actually the first one I immediately wanted to watch again. SO GOOD.

You know I would have been hard pressed to answer this question a while ago, but I honestly think my favourite episode of Critical Role might be Campaign 2 episode 43. Holy shit.

Can I just say "the entire Whitestone arc"? Because it's the entire Whitestone Arc*.

*I am only on C1.64 so this is subject to change, even though I was thoroughly spoiled for what goes down way before I started watching.
